Best Retribution Paladin Necks Pre-Raid

Retribution Paladin Necks is current for Patch 4.0.6.  This is a list of the best Retribution Paladin necks, or neck slot items, available pre-raiding.  I am fairly comfortable with the priorities here, necks seem to be fairly in order.

This is a best in slot list (BiS) for necks for Ret Paladins, and I am fairly sure this won’t change much, at least until we see a Mastery change that raises the value of stacking Mastery on gear.

  3. [Seedling Pod] (H)
  4. [Pendant of Quiet Breath]
  5. [Red Sky Pendant] (H)

  7. [Baroness Silverlaine’s Locket] (H)
  8. [Seedling Pod] (N)

NOTE: The top 3 necks are within 20 DPS or so of each other, so you really can’t go wrong.  If you are hit and expertise capped already, Gift of Nadun wins hands down.

    Personally, I’d put it at #3. I’m convinced by the argument that crit is better than haste after 4.0.6, which would make it just slightly better itemized than the Seedling Pod. And since hit is better than expertise (up to hitcap, naturally) it’s better than the Quiet Breath as well.

    That said, if you’re already capped for both hit and expertise, all other things being equal I’d rate the Red Sky Pendant #3 because more hit or expertise won’t help you in PVE and the crit and mastery will.

    since patch 4.0.6 wouldn’t Buc-zakai choker be way better then gift of nadun if you reforge haste into crit
