Solo Moam as a Ret Paladin
Moam is the third boss in AQ20 that I attempted to solo as a Ret Paladin, and I did so with ridiculously easy success. Not much strategy here, but I will say that if the Ooze trash mobs on the way to Moam manage to start consuming you, you’re in trouble. The first consume I ran into was easy to bubble out of. The second one killed me. I did manage to kill a couple as well, but my recommendation is to completely skip them if possible.

A Mastery system preview for Cataclysm has been posted on he WoW forums. Eyonix has briefly explained the mission and goals for the mastery system, which will revamp the current talent trees. What is clear is that Blizzard isn’t a huge fan of generalized damage increase talents, such as, increase damage by 1%/2%/3%, etc. They look to replace that with master talents, to give more fun and robust talents a chance to be used.
It’s true we tend to rely on cookie cutter talent builds to maximize DPS, and rightfully so, …

Solo General Rajaxx as a Ret Paladin
When I made Khor, my Retribution Paladin, one of the first things I did upon reaching level 80 was attempt to solo Onyxia, ZG, and AQ20. I was able to solo Onyxia, and ZG wasn’t far behind. AQ20 was more difficult, and after wiping on Kurinnaxx several times, I decided to skip him and try Rajaxx. He also wiped me several times.
Now, after many gear upgrades, I was able to one shot him with my normal approach. He does have a heavy knockback that deals around …

Solo Kurinnaxx as a Ret Paladin
Soloing AQ10 as a Retribution Paladin has long been on my to-do list. I have tried several times with lesser gear, and come up short. I also wasn’t really modifying my tactics, and put forth some very weak efforts. Not this time, though. Kurinnaxx is first on my solo list, and I will cover my strategy here.
The fight is a very simple one, but you do have to be mindful of a couple of Kurinnaxx’s abilities. The simple strat is to kite him around in …

The best weapons for Ret Paladins vary depending on gear and combat situations. There is some varying degree of argument regarding Bryntroll and other weapons, but for the most part, this vanilla list can help you get an idea of what is available to Retribution Paladins in ICC.
This list comes from Elitist Jerks, the orignal thread can be found [HERE]. Current for Patch 3.3.2.
[Shadowmourne]
[Oathbinder, Charge of the Ranger-General]

Haste vs Armor Penetration. Which stat is better for Ret Paladins? There is a alot of argument and confusion over which stat seems to be better for a Ret Pally. You can make very solid cases either way, but nothing is actually set in stone. There ahave even been some conflicting comments here on my site as well.
After a couple weeks of research, playing around with Rawr, checking the EJ, WoW, and retpaladin.com forums, it would appear the general concensus is that Haste is still better than Armor Pen, even …

What’s the best level 19 PvP class in World of Warcraft? Based on much PvP twinkage, I think I have a pretty solid list compiled. First, we are going to separate the lists into 2 different categories: DPS and Healing.
My most recent project was to level another Paladin up to level 39 through battlegrounds. The 10-19 bracket is probably the most fun for me, because everyone is playing with very basic talents and abilities. Teamwork is essential, and the playing field is more or less even…so long as you work …

The best trinket for Ret Paladins at the moment is [Tiny Abomination in a Jar]. The reason being is that motes stack up very quickly for Retribution Paladins. We can proc up to 4 motes in one swing with our various attacks and abilities. On top of that, the bonus 50% damage from 8 motes procs our seals as well.
Tiny Abomination in a Jar (TAiaJ) is so powerful for us, that the heroic and normal versions are numbers 1 and 2 on our best trinkets list. If you are lucky …

Deadmines can be soloed at level 26 by a Retribution Paladin. Last night, server lag was at an all time high. The original plan was to continue our ICC 10 run, but multiple avenues of lag diverted us from our main goal. We ended up running the weekly raid quest for our 5 Emblems of Frost, and called it a night.
The night was still young however, so I decided to keep on playing…if I could. Loading screens when logging into instances and onto other characters were taking 3 minutes or …

Healing Shields for the Holy Paladin
Current for WotLK and Patch 3.3
As Ret Paladins, we are often utilized for our off-spec should the need arise. One of those off-specs is Holy, allowing us to heal. Normally, we are single target healers, often focusing on the main tank, or off-tank, allowing Druids, Priests, and Shaman to group heal as needed.
One of our most unique pieces as a Holy Paladin is the shield we carry. The healing shield is only used by two classes: Paladins and Shaman. So, there is usually little competition …
