Moderation Further Enforced!
Hello everyone! I want to thank all of you who continue to visit RetributionPaladins.com! It’s a real pleasure to provide a resource that can help so many players out there! It means a lot to read the comments you guys have left thanking me for the site. I read every comment that is left here, and I try to respond to as many as time allows me.
I am getting over 250k pageviews a month now, so traffic has increased significantly over the past few months. With this increase in traffic has come more requests for help, and many new comments every day. This recent influx is going to cause me to be more thorough on my site moderation.
MY OFFICIAL POLICY!
My focus for this site is to keep it a genuinely helpful resource, where players can come without fear of flaming, trolling, or insults.
In addition, I would also like to keep this site clean and presentable for all age groups. Just as there are many adults who visit this site, there are many younger kids, too. I am a 29 year-old father of two, so I find myself in touch with most of the audiences that visit here.
This means inappropriate comments will not be tolerated. In addition to the normal flaming, trolling ,and insulting…swearing and sexual references will not only result in a deletion of the comment, but a ban on the commentor’s ip address as well.
I take this policy very seriously, and would rather make a few enemies in order to protect the environment I am trying to create. There is a great deal of value in finding a place to come for genuine, legit help. For those of us that appreciate this, I intend to follow through 100%.
To give you guys an idea of where I am coming from, this last week, I did the following on my site:
- Sorted and deleted 362 spam comments
- Deleted 5 comments for sexual references
- Deleted 12 comments for swearing/cursing
- Deleted 17 comments for insulting/trolling
Now, about 75% of these comments came from one user, but I am going to nip this in the bud right now. Please be very courteous when posting comments. Intelligent and mature responses and comments will help to build this into a strong community.
For the most part, everyone is doing a fantastic job. But for those few that cannot seem to hold their tongue (or fingers), you have been warned!

I hope you keep up the great work on the site. I have to say you have kept my leveling my pally, and not getting discourged about it. This will be my first character to 80, and the first to 85 when Cataclysm comes out. Thank you for everything you do.

I agree with and appreciate your efforts but deleting for swearing? Please, there isn’t a single person, kids included, that views this site that doesn’t already know and frequently use those words anyway.
Hey Quaymar, yes deletion for swearing. I’m not talking about words like damn, hell, crap, etc. I’ll use those occasionally in my posts and rants
I’m talking about the more serious ones, and we know what they are.
Yes, it’s true we see them every day in WoW, and that is very unfortunate. Like I said, I expect to make a few enemies, but overall, I think it enhances the value of the content on this site when we leave the swearing out
Atta boy Khor! Vulgar language does not convey any more meaning than polite language. There is no need to tolerate it.
