No Patch 4.0.6 and Theme Changes

Most of you probably already know this, but Patch 4.0.6 is NOT today.  Looks like it will go live next week.  Honestly, that’s okay with me, because I have a bigger fish to fry at the moment.  I am currently working on switching themes for this website, and I hope to have the framework coded and completed by the end of the week!

There are still a few kinks I need to work out, and hopefully I can get them resolved soon.  When the changes DO go live, you guys will probably see me making some changes live on the webpage.

Now, for most webmasters and web gurus, this isn’t ideal, and I know that…but my limited knowledge lets me code this behind the scenes and test framework coding, but some of the content  you guys see on the homepage will be done after it goes live.

Anyways, here’s to one more week of holding our breath!

I’ve put my paladin on the shelf since we got nerfed to the ground. (It’s good since I got to level some other alts.) But I still check this site every day for updates. So thanks for the awesome work you’ve done, keep it up. :]

Hey Khor, really appreciate all of your hard work for this site, not to mention the great info. I’ve been working on a decent Holy set until ret gets to where it should be but the change is kind of fun for a while. Also been playing some alts and was researching Warlock talents and came across this article by Ghostcrawler describing Blizzards thinking on the Cat dungeon difficulty, it’s a good article and I, for one, tend to agree with him….check it out when you have time. “Dungeon Difficuly” starts about 1/2 way down the page and thanks to Warlocks Den for putting this post up.

I found your site a couple weeks ago and really appreciate it. Thanks for all the work you put into it.

I have been trying to play ret since Vanilla WoW and it always hurts. I don’t think the patch changes are going to be enough, the class still needs mechanic tweaking, not just numbers.

Keep up great work man, I’m really looking forward to upcoming patch. Let’s hope they’ll let us be as good as ever!

Just wanted to share a little story.

I recently queued for a 5-man and accepted to enter a dungeon already in progress. The party was on Siamet in Tol’vir. I was amazed that someone dropped at the final boss. I was told the previous DPS left because they kept wiping, and that I should feel free to leave as they would probably wipe again. I stayed, but immediatley saw that heals couldn’t keep up. So I stepped back and threw some heals down. We downed him, and they thanked me. End.

The point of this story is that everyone keeps talking about how broken Ret Pallies are. Whatever; the goal as far as I can tell in this game is to stay alive and to kill things. If I can help a group do this, then I did my job, even if some of what I did doesn’t show up on the DPS meters. Granted, with good heals and a good tank, I shouldn’t have to heal at all, but it’s nice to know that there is that backup there, especially in a PUG. I think more propers need to be given to the Ret Pally as the best utility class.

    I know, I know….cool story bro. TL/DR.

    Great site Khor.

    Good one, Sola

This is exactly what happened to me yesterday in the exact same boss Heroic Daily. The problem is some people have “In Recount we trust” tatooed on their f- foreheads XD and don’t know how to appreciate it.

Keep up the great work with the site!

Love the site! Great work Khor! Any plans on Prot guide at all? Something similar to your Holy guide?

I agree the ret paladins are great all around. I keep the tank with set focus on them in all dungs. I have managed to keep the tank alive on multiple occassions. Yes, you do loss on the dps meters but I am there for the exp not the bragging rights and quickest way to the next dung is to get thru the current one. To do that I usually dont use the holy charges (word of glory) for anything but healing myself or the tank. If the tank gets below half health I hit them with a heal. If someone is bitching then you can always use Recount to show how much healing you have been doing. So far no has cared about extra help. I do the same thing when I am using the prot spec, but the ret spec works the best as a backup healer.
